Hello guys! Today I thought I would tell you about my travel plans for this year because I have serious wanderlust happening right now! Ever since my husband Mark and I got married in October 2015, we vowed to travel to as many places as possible before the bambinos come along. As a result of this pact, 2017 brings three trips abroad for me and I couldn’t be more excited!
First on the list is Barcelona! This is a city that I have always wanted to visit. My friend visited last year and told me she thought that “if I were a city, I would be Barcelona” which made me want to go even more! I am jetting off at the end of this month with my best friend Holly – we’ve booked a hotel in El Borne district and I can’t wait! Most of all because Holly and I went travelling together in 2010 and she is the best travel companion ever. I can’t wait to share all the photos with you.
Another place I will be visiting is the small Greek island of Mykonos with Mark. We have only heard good things about this little island, and after my parents went last year it made us want to go even more. We have a holiday booked in May through Thomson, which is something neither of us have done before (we normally like to book flights and hotels separately so we aren’t restricted). Seven full days of sun, sand, sea and FOOD! I am looking forward to just relaxing which is something I find really hard to do when I am on holiday as I like to be up and exploring as much as possible.
The next place, is a secret. I have booked somewhere for us to go for Mark’s birthday in June as a surprise and because of thishe doesn’t know where we are going yet. I can’t risk telling you as I know he sporadically reads the blog (hi Mark!). This secret is something I am really finding it hard to keep it to myself because I can’t wait to see his reaction. Only three more months until I can spill the beans!
More Travel Plans
We are hoping to probably squeeze another trip in at the end of the year, probably for our 2nd wedding anniversary and have our eyes on a few places like Lisbon, Venice or The Amalfi Coast. Fellow blogger Sophia Rosemary recently visited Venice and her beautiful photos have really made me want to visit. Check them out here. My wanderlust list seems to be getting bigger by the day!
So, in conclusion, those are my travel plans! Has anyone got any good recommendations they can give me for my trips? I’m after anything – restaurants, sights, shops, experiences. I always prefer to go somewhere someone has recommended over the guide books any day.
