One of the best things about pregnancy so far has been finding clothes that not only look good with a bump, but also stays true to my own style. Discovering my pregnancy style was a huge thing for me.
My bump suddenly popped two weeks ago. All of a sudden my jeans held together with a hair tie just wasn’t doing it anymore for me. Luckily, I had bought a few bits in preparation (jeans and some basic tees). I’d also purchased a couple of maternity smock tops, but with the bump, I hated the way they looked. I didn’t feel myself and instantly felt ‘Mumsy’. Needless to say I took them straight back.
Immediately I hit the shops making a beeline for one of my favourite high street retailer Zara. They don’t have a dedicated maternity range but with half of my wardrobe already from there I knew I would find lots of bits I love. I’m going to be at my biggest Spring through to mid-Summer so needed to find loose clothing that I could pair with a waist belt. Waist belts are going to be my saviour I think! H&M was another great shop that I found lots in too. These are my favourite bits I found for my pregnancy wardrobe.
White Button Down Dress | Zara | M
This is one of the dresses I’m most excited to start wearing once the weather starts warming up. It’s from Zara and a size M. I’m normally a medium in Zara, and did originally order this in a large, however it was huge on me (even with the bump) so I decided to size down to my normal size. There is plenty of room for the bump to grow and would look gorgeous afterwards too. I love the buttons down the middle and the neckline.
Pleated Midi Skirt | H&M | M
I saw this skirt on The Frugality’s Instagram and HAD to have it. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, the way the stripes fall make it so flattering on the bump. I’ve been wearing this for a few weeks now teamed with a long sleeved top but am also looking forward to pairing it with a strappy top and sandals once the Summer hits. Again this is a size medium as I wear it above the bump so that measurement hasn’t really differed that much… yet! Unfortunately the skirt is all sold out online now, but any pleated midi skirt will look amazing with a bump.
Floral Culotte Jumpsuit | Zara | L
This jumpsuit instantly went into my shopping bag when I saw it but knowing that I have a long body I decided to order it in a Large and it fits perfectly. I team it with a thin waist belt to accentuate what little waist I have left. I’m looking forward to wearing this with some Birkenstocks on my holiday and a leather jacket!
Polka Dot Midi Dress | H&M | M
This dress is one of my absolute favourites at the moment in my pregnancy wardrobe. It’s oversized so a size Medium was still perfect on me. It does look like a sack without a waist belt though so that is a definite must for me! This looks great with any type of shoe, but my favourite is with some trainers for a more casual/ day time look.
Oversized Shirts | H&M & Urban Outfitters | L
The blue oversized shirt is from H&M and the White shirt is from last year’s Urban Outfitters. I included it because oversized shirts are a pregnant woman’s best friend. Not only is the length perfect for growing bumps but they also look great either loose fitting or again with my friend the waist belt! They are also perfect for Summer and would look great tied in a knot over a maxi dress.
Stripe Midi Dress | Zara | M
As soon as I saw this dress it went into my basket. Again, it’s oversized so I ordered it in a medium and it is perfect. It looks great at the moment with a belt, however would look just as good without as it has little pleats in the front and back which give it a bit of shape. I have already worn this a number of times and always get so many compliments on it. A perfect dress for Spring/ Summer.
Polka Dot Asymmetric Blouse | Zara | M
I bought this blouse a few months ago and have worn it so much. It is oversized and dips at the back which makes it so flattering with a bump. It’s lightweight and feels amazing on. One of my absolutely favs, and polka dots are HUGE this year.
